How Westminster Academy Employs 3 Types of School Models

When discussing school models, three general terms come into play: homeschool, private school, and public school. Within those models are also different types, such as charter school or magnet school. Each one has its benefits, and we recognize those benefits here at Westminster Academy. That’s why we have implemented aspects of all three school models, allowing students to thrive in every way possible. Here’s how.

Homeschool

We use a hybrid learning program, which means students work through the curriculum at home on some days and in the classroom on others. The homeschool portion of this program encourages independence, as students must take responsibility to learn and comprehend the material when working on their own. They will gain skills to face unfamiliar circumstances independently.

Additionally, our homeschooling helps students find individuality in their learning. Every student is different, and our at-home curriculum can be customized to fit each student’s needs. We want to emphasize their strengths, improve their weaknesses, and allow them to explore their interests.

Private School

Private schools are often known for having a more rigorous approach to education, and rigor is one of Westminster Academy’s core values. We want to challenge our students and help them reach their highest potential — without overworking them or overcomplicating their education. We encourage continuous consumption of knowledge in every area of life, with the hopes that our students will leave as better learners and better people.

Public School

Like public school models, Westminster Academy strives to be as accessible as possible. We are dedicated to making sure our education is available to every student across Berks and Montgomery Counties, regardless of their financial status or their social or academic differences. Our customized plans will always consider each family’s needs in these areas.
